FIRE DRAGON FESTIVAL
September
18th – 19th, 2026

THE FIRE DRAGON RETURNS TO VANCOUVER
The Fire Dragon Festival returns Friday, September 18th, to Saturday, September 19th, 2026 in Vancouver’s Chinatown.
The event will bring the Chinatown community together past and present through celebration, cultural activities and performances, culinary exploration, and the appreciation of intangible heritage.
Our vision is to establish a community tradition through partnership and collaboration that will strengthen awareness and education about Chinatown’s cultural legacy for years to come.
SCHEDULE OF EVENTS
Due to funding constraints, we are unable to hold a parade as we have done in previous years. However, we will have activities throughout the day, including hands-on lantern making, a traditional Hakka Qilin dance performance by the Tsung Tsin Hakka Association, and a lion dance bench routine presented by the Chau Luen Athletics lion dance team.
All of the events will take place at Chinatown Memorial Square from 2:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M.
We thank all of our volunteers and the Chinatown community for their tremendous support and we will work hard to bring the parade and all of its cultural traditions again in 2027.
